Traditional Apple Crumble
Apple crumble is not as hard to master as it sounds. Instead of apples, other fruit can also be used. Rhubarb, Gooseberries or Cherries are all very good.
Apple Crumble
Time to Prepare: 20 minutes.
Time to Cook: 1 hour.
Great For: Pudding with lots of delicious left overs. Serve with custard or cream.
Ingredients
- 200g Plain Flour
- 100g Butter
- 100g Sugar
- 1 tablespoon of dark brown sugar
- 2 Cooking Apples
- A handful of mixed fruit
Preparation Instructions
- First you need to peel, chop and core the apples. Double up the ingredients as necessary for numbers.
- Rub together the flour and butter until they are at bread crumb consistency, then mix in the granulated sugar.
- Put the apples in a dish and sprinkle the mixed fruit and dark brown sugar over them.
- Then sprinkle on the crumble mix and put in a 180 degrees centigrade oven for 30 mins so that it is golden brown.
- Serve with custard, cream or ice cream.
